Materials:
Step 1 -- Mix UV resin color pigments into the UV resin, to reach the color that you want.
Note: The resin will be used to cast the outer rim of iris and pupils, only a small amount is needed.
Step 2 -- Use thin sharp object to fill the mold to fill the outer rim of iris and pupils.
Note: The outer rim should be very thin and even, and it is always a good idea to fill different size of pupils, so you have choices of which size to use.
Step 3 -- Put them under the UV lamp to cure.
Note: The curing time is depended on the voltage of the lamp. Higher the voltage, faster it cures.
Step 4 -- Mix two part resin according to the package instruction.
Note: the mixing ratio doesn't need to be extra, as long as it is very close to the ratio labled.
Step 5 -- Pure the resin into the mold, and it will slowly turned into white solid.
Note: The curing time is different for different brand, and do not touch the resin during the curing process, because it will become very hot.
Step 6 -- During the curing process, mix UV resin with the color that you want the iris to be.
This is how the eye base will look like after the resin is cured
Note: Don't worry if there's any unwanted color inside the iris, it will be covered later.
Step 7 -- Coat the inside of iris evenly with the UV resin mixed in step 6, and cure under UV lamp.
Step 8 -- Use sharp object to create indents in the iris.
Note: Space out each indents as evenly as possible, and all of them should meet at the center of the iris.
Step 9 -- Use thin brush and white acrylic paint to paint over the indents to intensify the indents that you just made. Note: You can wet the brush to remove any extra paint once the acrylic is dry.
Step 10 -- Glue the pupils that you made in step 3 onto the center of the iris by using UV resin and cure under UV lamp.
Note: only a tiny amount of UV resin is needed, and don't use the UV resin that's mixed with color pigments.
Step 11 -- Drop UV resin on the eye to create a dome. And cure it under Note: Both dome should look even. And if there's bubble, use sharp object to pop it.
